Handling long sub-menus more gracefully

Hi list.

I'm new to openbox,

I'm running ob3 on Debian/testing. I have a couple of sub-menus, notably
Debian > apps > system and Debian > apps > tools sub-menus that are too
long for my screen.

For various reasons, I don't want to reduce the text size or use
Debian's automatic menu configuration system to split them up into
further sub-menus (or columns ;-). My ideal would be to be able to use
the scroll wheel on my mouse to scroll the sub-menus up & down. AFAICS
it is not possible to specify mouse-bindings in the context of the menu,
or have I failed to understand the documentation?

I can deal with the .xml files and themerc format, but the hardcode is
beyond me. I'm wondering if the xorStyle and/or warpPointer options
would help me here. If anyone was able to explain if it is possible to
configure the menu behaviour or at least make it jump around slower and
where I would need to make these changes, I'd be grateful.

cheers

tim hall
