Bug 908: Focus lockups- any known remedy?

Hi all,
it's been quite some time since Richard Witt posted with the Subject  
"wierd stuff" on the topic of this bug

I love sloppy focus and I run xinerama, so windows redraw slow enough  
for this to happen occasionally. I'm running ob3.1-2 debian sid. I see  
that Mikael added bugzilla comments for this bug quite recently, so all  
I wanted to know was whether this problem has been traced down, or  
whether it hasn't been quite pinpointed yet. The problem is just  
annoying enough to make it into The Black Book. Is there anything an  
inexperienced programmer can do to help?
