symlink paths

hello,
	using the information this list provided earlier, i created a
get_absolute_path() function so i could run my application from
anywhere. using lokisetup though, clicking the menu item or clicking
play in the menu launches the symlink, which then causes my
get_absolute_path() function to return paths in the symlinks directory,
where the data needed is not.
	is there a way to test to see if my program was run from a symlink, and
if so, find out where that symlink points?
