BUG REPORT
CPU/RAM/Operating System: AMD XP 2200+/256MB/Linux (Debian testing)
Hard Drive Space: 20 GB
Video Card/OpenGL Drivers: GeForce4 MX 440 AGP 8x] (rev a4)/nvidia 1.0.5336-6
Version of GTKRadiant: 1.4.0
Error:
Install script fails:
sh ../linux-radiant-1.4.0.run
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing GtkRadiant 1.4.0 setup...............................Extraction failed.
Signal caught, cleaning up
I think I found out a reason for this. Script could be more verbose though.
Cause of Error:
Simple:
sh ../linux-radiant-1.4.0.run
Archive is OK!
Next I did:
dd if=../linux-radiant-1.4.0.run of=radiant-1.4.0 ibs=1 skip=8257
56786296+0 records in
110910+1 records out
56786296 bytes transferred in 26.868550 seconds (2113486 bytes/sec)
tar xzf radiant-1.4.0
./setup.sh
After installing libgtkglext1_1.0.6-1_i386.deb
it seems to work! (I don't know how to use though:)
I don't like sefl-extracting files. I would rather download tar.gz (or tar.bz2) file and check separate md5sum. Having separate md5sum in your web site would be safer. I could download GTKRadiant from somewhere and check it with md5sum from your site.
While writing above I found out likely reason for script failure: I don't have much disk space for /tmp (my mistake)
Thank you!
