I get this error...

Gtk-WARNING **: invalid cast from (NULL) pointer to `GtkWidget'

... in a DOS prompt console when I disable the plugin toolbar in...

Edit > Preferences > Interface > Layout > Plugin Toolbar


GtkRadiant runs perfectly fine only if the Plugin Toolbar is enabled, but I 
find this annoying since there is only one button on that toolbar and it 
reduces the amount of viewable workspace on the program. Disabling this option 
and GtkRadiant fails to work. This has been a recurring error on several 
versions of GtkRadiant ever since the Plugin Toolbar was first introduced.
