Summary: Crash on first-run, runs fine afterwards
           Product: GtkRadiant
           Version: 1.2
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: editor
        AssignedTo: ttimo@idsoftware.com
        ReportedBy: mailinglist.gtkradiant@hydras-world.com

radiant crashed on my today, fresh install of 1.2.9 + 1.2.10 upgrade installed
rtcw + q3 packs.
I didn't run 1.2.9, just installed both, one after the other.

I used <gameinstalldir>\tools\radiant for my tools, not the default
<gameinstalldir>\radiant

c:\program files\gtkradiant <-- GtkRadiant path

e:\games\quake3 <-- game dir
e:\games\quake3\tools\gtkr12 <-- tools path

e:\games\rtcw <-- game dir
e:\games\rtcw\tools\gtkr12 <-- tools path

When you start it for the first time, it prompts for the game, after which it
says it can't find the engine, and prompts you for that (using the *nix file
selector, and not the win32 file selector)
Then it prompts for the default .qe4 file (i pointed it at the setup-installed
e:\games\quake3\baseq3\scripts\quakev3.qe4
and :\games\rtcw\Main\scripts\quakev3.qe4 files for Q3 and RTCW respectivly)
(Note that this time, it used the Win32 file requestor)

Radiant then shows the main editor window, with grid, 3d window and everything,
the console says "entering message loop", and then it crashes.

If you restart GtkRadiant it loads and runs fine, it just crashed on the first
run.

It happened on the first run for both Q3 and RTCW.

IMHO, this needs to be fixed ASAP as it's not a really good impression for
first time users
of GtkRadiant. ;)
