ok I'm not very clear on what we need to do here.
do we have those available as .md3, or are they .mdc?
from .def:
/*QUAKED misc_gamemodel (1 0 0) (-16 -16 -16) (16 16 16) ORIENT_LOD
md3 placed in the game at runtime (rather than in the bsp)
we need to recognize misc_gamemodel and handle them like misc_model
not sure if we want this done in 1.2 codebase or on 1.3
