Got the bug report below. Tracked down to missing textures/radiant/notex
if I remember right, 1.3 denies load if default tex not found, whereas 1.2 doesn't
(and ends up crashing)

probably the cause of the crash. Most likely means that you are missing
some files. Cleanup and reinstall, make sure everything installs
correctly.
