I have a question about a feature that i used to be able to do in an editor for
level design in Quake2. The editor was called Deathmatchmaker2. Its no longer
around but this feature kicked ass.

You could choose an existing brush and pull up a 2d view of that brush. You
then could choose another texture.. and draw a square, retangle, circle as if
drawing another brush (and move it to where you wanted) over top the selected
brush texture in 2d view and make a light that became part of that texture and
was flush with the surface without splitting the selected brush. It become part
of the existing texture. Could add as many lights as wanted along the wall or
ceiling without splitting brush.**** I can't remember if you could rotate brush
or choose 1 face since its been so long.

You also could draw over the selected brush texture the length of the wall in
2d view the same way to add molding to top, bottom or anywhere you wanted it of
a wall by selecting the texture you wanted and do the same as above..etc (even
if sloped) and it would merge the drawn texture with the texture of the
selected brush and be flush with the original brush when in the game. You could
also make the texture fit the the drawn area.

I was wondering if this could be possible to merge textures together in the
editor like this to make lights in ceilings and walls, molding on walls,
designs on walls ,ceilings, colomns...etc. Would save alot of brush splitting
and make some interesting use of textures i think if at all possible.

I hope i somewhat explained ok.

Thx
