xmap validation is also broken and is affecting(effecting?) "paste" 
operations.  (e.g, selecting a brush and pressing space).

See plugins/mapxml/parse.cpp line 261

doc = ParseXMLStream(in, true );

change the true to false. to temporarily disable validation until this is fixed.
