Summary: make md5 checksum in makeself work on l33t distributions
Product: GtkRadiant
Version: 1.2-nightly
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: setup
AssignedTo: ttimo@idsoftware.com
ReportedBy: ttimo@idsoftware.com
md5 is not present in debian
md5sum is a replacement? possibly md5sum and md5 don't produce the same checksum
out of the same data? need to investigate?
<TTimo> I was wondering, is there anything newer than 1.5.4?
<TTimo> i.e. the one in last setup?
<MEGA|Home> not really
<MEGA|Home> I barely touched it since
<TTimo> I was wondering
<TTimo> md5
<TTimo> I don't have that .. is md5sum a straight replacement?
<TTimo> in which case I would search for md5, then md5sum
<MEGA|Home> I think so, but I think they are not compatible with each other though
<TTimo> ?
<MEGA|Home> experiment with this
<TTimo> you mean it's not gonna output the same sum
<TTimo> mh ok
<MEGA|Home> I think they return different checksums for the same data
<TTimo> shit
<TTimo> it's md5 signature damnit
<MEGA|Home> I'm not sure. check this
<TTimo> it shouldn't be different
<MEGA|Home> I know
<TTimo> to check I would have to find an md5 binary :)
<MEGA|Home> the format is somewhat different
<TTimo> there's no trace of it in any debian distrib ..
<TTimo> fixing the CRC checksum bug was my prority, I will fill the md5sum as a
todo item
