I searched the db and was surprised to find no entries on this subj.

I realize that a full-on visgrouping facility would be a huge undertaking. My 
suggestion here is merely for some added functionality and automation. 
func_group, afaik, mean absolutely nothing to the bsp process except when they 
have the terrain flag.

3 things would give them 80% of the functionality of a full visgrouping sub-
app: 1) a command (that would be key assignable in the shortcuts.ini) to 
toggle func_group on the selected brushes/group  2) color assignable (even a 
limited pallete of 8 or 10)  3) hide/unhide by color.

I use func_groups A LOT. a command that i could bind to ctrl-sh-G would be a 
great clicksaver. 

assign one of 8 colors to a group, then hide/unhide colors independent of each 
other. . . tremendous organizational boost.
