Update...  evidently the problem isn't with Radiant not using hardware
acceleration, because in "flythrough" camera mode it's nice and smooth.  So now
I really have no idea what the reason might be...  but when moving the camera
using the arrow keys or manipulating brushes (or patches) in the 2D view,
there's a delay where my CPU usage jumps to 100%, and the length of this delay
appears to be proportional to the number of brushes in the camera's view.

I should probably also mention specifically that this delay affects the 2D
window too.  That's where it affects me the most since it slows down my work
even when I'm not looking at the 3D view, and I had figured it was only getting
redrawn after the 3D view was redrawn, but upon reflection I realized that might
not be obvious.
