Summary: Redrawing 3D preview is very slow
           Product: GtkRadiant
           Version: 1.1.1
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: editor
        AssignedTo: ttimo@idsoftware.com
        ReportedBy: mbp2@lehigh.edu

I'm getting extremely slow performance from the 3D preview window, almost as if
it weren't using my hardware 3D acceleration at all. I'm using a Geforce2 GTS
with nvidia's 1.0-1541 driver and XFree86 4.1.0. Kernels 2.4.3 and 2.4.12.

All other GL apps run fine (including Q3, Unreal Tournament, and Tuxracer).
Radiant's "about" box reports "Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation", "Version: 1.2.2",
"Renderer: Geforce2 GTS/AGP/3DNOW!", and lists a bunch of GL extensions, so it
does seem to be finding and linking to my /usr/lib/libGL.so (which is a link to
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.0.1512). Yet any operation which involves updating the 3D
view, such as resizing a brush, lags severely behind the mouse actions if the
camera is pointed in a direction where lots of brushes reside.

GtkRadiant-1.1.1 on Win98 does not exhibit this problem.
