This bug is fairly unidentified .. no precise cases for reproduction, no 
precise analysis so far either. Possibly related to 
http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53 though I doubt it.

What happens is that the 2D view suddenly becomes very very slow during usage.

Need more info .. hardware, OS info etc.
