My secondary monitor is a 15inch that couldn't do 1600x1200 unless I
wanted it to explode.
However, according to the nvidia readme that came with the driver there
is a limitation on the twinview on the GF2MX with regard to the pixel
clock. The limitation isn't present on the GF4's however.
