slight holdup on those two patches

Some last second testing before 'cvs commit' showed that the memleak
patch can crash on a debug build.  A couple of Makefile changes can fix
the crash in question but I want to test it some more to make sure
nothing else shows up.

A freaky crash can sometimes happen if you exit a movie at certain times
during the first 10-15 seconds of play.  I'll see if I can track down
exactly why this happens and fix it, again.   This crash is due to a
particular memory leak fix in the movie code.
