Forcefeedback in linux, and Joystick problems with AXIS

I have a sidewinder force feedback2, I have several problems with it in freespace, the R and Z axis for rotating and throttle respectively don't work, the game detects them and i can bind them, but ingame they do nothing, I know that this is a code error, I've worked on another linux spaceflight sim project Vegastrike, vegastrike.sourceforge.net, sdl was also used there and we had those axis fully working. the other thing is this, is Force feedback available in FS2 linux? there IS a sidewinder force feedback 2 force feedback driver for linux, and a tester app for it, there are also the i-force force feedback drivers. a quick search oin google will find both drivers.
