As far as I can tell, it's not limited to only older IDSoftware (or Q3
based) games:
Battlefield 1942
Crysis
Crysis Wars
DOOM 3
Enemy Territory
Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars
Far Cry 2
Frontlines: Fuel of War
Need for Speed Pro Street
Prey
Quake III Arena
QUAKE LIVE
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

I sent an email to evenbalance a month ago asking if it wouldn't be possible
to just keep authentication servers running as-is so that new/returning
players could get a PB-GUID, even though there's no further development of
the PB Client/Server for these games. But the reply was simply: "We're sorry
, but support has ended"
 
Seems rather cheap. Given that the online communities for these games are
rather the toll on their servers couldn't be that high. But even if
communities are small they still probably would want PB running.

As i know, the development of further versions on some games has stoped.

Does anyone know who, what, why, where? It's not a happy situation for those
gamers. A lot of people still play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (at least
