That's a good point. Who do we talk to? We need to have a discussion with someone in charge.
Jedi Knight 2 had this horrible bug that made th game-play quite bad (strangely you could kill someone instantly by running backwards and swinging your light saber). A lot of people complained about it, made mods for it, etc. I e-mailed Raven and the producer of Jedi Knight 2 from LucasArts. They responded nicely and released a patch! So we just need to find someone to contact and start from there. Any suggestions? :)

I'm scared that such a behaviour would just be harmful to us.
If we all stop supporting mw3 they could just say: "nobody want to host the servers... let's stop making dedicated servers for any future game"... but that's not the real situation...
we just need to keep asking sledgehammer or whoever is handling the game to support us :)

Yes, we absolutely need Linux servers. I know we can feel desperate to run this game server, but I think we should avoid tweaking and playing around until we see some developer support and interaction. Just my opinion.

it is technically fine if your boxes do not have more than 32gb of ram.
About license, if I remember correctly it should say:
"Windows Web Server 2008 can be used solely to deploy Internet-accessible Web pages, Web sites, Web applications, Web services, and POP3 mail serving"
