just did a search on game monitor with the word boycott and it pulled up 461
servers.. thats pretty cool isnt it? at least the message is getting
circulated. unfortunately we still have to check in with master servers.
i put up two servers myself.
in my opinion i dont think they would pull the plug on the masters-that
would piss off alot of ppl and dont think the older cod's were written for
matchmaking were they?

tell me please, what we would do when they shut down the central servers for
all cod games versions and all dedi's will be useless, what then, should I
go to work in gross market or what?

I strongly agree.
Shutting down servers is really just giving IW a another argument for
introducing IW-NET.

Agree; Nov 10 should be named the international COD Dedicated Server day ...
EVERYONE should be in a Dedicated COD server playing for as long as possible
on Nov 10. It's a Tuesday - which sucks. But it's the only way we can send
the message. We're not buying this crap; we'll stick with our old games
just because they have dedi's.
And all GSP's should send out a message to their customers to stream the
news in their games / and or help configure the cvar message. And certainly
not purchase MW2.
Then IW decides.

Still think that it will only hurt us and not IW.
Good things to do are NOT buying and Renaming the servers into
boycott MW2, not shutting em down.
I'm opening more servers on NoV 10 not shutting em down.

Ok I've only got two servers up and running but they will
be coming down!
And not a single penny will leave my pocket for another
COD game period.

Shouldn't this be done before 11/10?
Knowing IW, they'll just blame this on the GSP's and
use it as fire as to why they need to get the
multiplayer model off the dedicated server platform.
The sales stoppage is the more powerful pull. Nothing
is worse that spending tens of millions of dollars
growing a race horse just to watch it trip and break
its leg out of the gate in its first race.
On the contrary, if COD4 and other COD servers remain
going full speed with no dip in activity on release
day, that would prove that the dedicated platform is
more valuable to players. And it would dispel IW's
claims as complete and utter myth.
I guarantee you that if they see a big fat goose egg
on release day, they'll announce plans to release a
dedicated server as soon as possible. Either that, or
they'll just give up on PC at that point and speed
their transition to console.
We simply need to vote with our dollars.

Don't know if anyone's read this one

Considering what most of the people reading this
do, we'd be in a good
position to 'market' this.

Well, I have now pre-ordered CoD:MW2, just so that
I can cancel my
pre-order if IW doesn't change their stand on this
in the very near future.
