As Sandro said. You cannot open a .ff file. Even with mod tools. You have to create a new one.

If you are wanting to just decompress the *.ff file, you can use 7zip (7za.exe) to decompress the file. I have not been succesfull at getting p7zip(Linux version) working yet.
Has any1 else tried modifing *.ff files in Linux?

That site will have the cod5 mod tools to edit files and create mods.
FPSadmin has it also, just search for it at their site.
