I'll give that a try. Im not familiar with editing with a hex editor.
Could you give me some guidance?
I downloaded a free version of XVI32. Do I search for the offset and
change the value?
Editing cod4_lnxded-bin
Offsets: hexadec.

Any assistance or a better program would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Donald,
No word yet, as far as I know at least.
But I tried the binary patch from
https://bugzilla.icculus.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3535 (last post), and it's
running great now.
Ranking AND custom-maps, thats how it was meant to be ;-)
