You are right... I'm living in Holland and our release date is about 7 days
from now... I read in a couple of news groups that the version of you side
off the globe is already spreading on the internet... I almost (but didn't)
came close to download it myself because the upload time for the binaries to
my server.... But I'm not a pirate soo I'm going to wait until it is here in
the shops...

Dame I miss al the fun now...;-)

The only thing that is good about this is when it is in the shops here in
Holland the Linux binary will be ready... LoL...

Regards
Quint

Subject: [cod] The affects of seperate launch dates

Have activision taken into account any of the affects of separate
launch dates instead of one global one? They are in effect forcing
people to pirate their game.

Gamers are impatient and when a game is released even just a
few days before in one country, this seriously increases the likely
hood of people pirating the game so they can play as soon as its
released. You take this and make the European launch nearly a
week and a half later and the numbers that will be pirating the
game significantly increase.

You do get a minority which will pirate to get it on release then
go and purchase it but why take this hit? Im not saying it will
cut out all pirating but it will cut out those who pirate simply
because they want be among the first to play. The solution is
not a hard one, the logic is not complicated and more and more
developers / publishers are realising that global launches are
the only way to go.
