Rcon Status Failure

Anyone having problems with getting an Rcon status?  I have had no 
problems prior to tonight and then suddenly with 20+ people on the 
server it was getting fragmented.  This happened both in game and using 
HLSW.  Status on the server console itself was fine.  I've heard all the 
stuff about fragmented packets, etc.  I run a Linux box as my 
firewall/router and have had no problems prior to tonight including on 
this same server.  It appears to be the number of players (or so I'm 
guessing).  Any one else run into this?  Any thoughts/suggestions?
