48 player server?

hello,
The demo server did not seem to respect the # of players set - if you
said more than 32 it would allow connections up to 64... Has anyone
tried setting something between 32 and 64 with the released server? I've
discovered that the 64 player maps are too much for my poor P4 2.4 Ghz,
but I think it could handle 48 players probably.. I'm going to try it
but wanted to know if anyone else has seen anything like this.
