Control server by command line interpreter?

Is there any way to control the server via simple command line
interpreter, like nearly all the other game servers?

I'm aware the curses mode and the remote console mode, but I mean a
plain local console mode, in order to control the server from an
external tool. I also know about BFRemoteManager, and it's not useful to
me.
