[bf1942] Linux server status report: 2003-03-25

I think this mail list is great for this, but wish people would not send
excess emails, it is "redundant" to receive countless emails on the same
exact things over and over. Please leave out the excess chatter. :)

Andreas (DICE), thank you for the efforts, we sure hope to start seeing
some builds that can be run on live production systems. We have chosen
not to host this game yet because of the problems, but we sure look
forward to start hosting this game since we get a lot of requests. :)

Thanks again DICE,
--Matrix

Paul,

the distribution channel is undecided as of yet, but don't worry,
you won't miss any releases :-)

As for the mailing list, I don't recall saying it would become
redundant? We intend to use it until anyone here or elsewhere
suggests a better alternative.

Regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas

Thanks to you and DICE for being very upfront about things, we do
appreciate
it. Is there any sort of site, now or in the future for the BF linux
beta?
You did indicate earlier that this mailing list would become redundant,
just
somewhere official for people to watch where you will post the download
links to builds as you do them.

Cheers

Paul

Hi,

I'm sorry but DICE can't disclose any release dates as of now.
I'll make sure to post an announcement here when a new release is
available though.

Regards,
Andreas

I am a developer as well and I know most code written in a hurry isn't
the
most optimal. So without the thought of rushing you at all, I would only
like to ask for an estimation, when do you think we'll be able to enjoy
it?
:)

And if you plan or except it to be at least as good as the windows
version
when it's ready.

best regards:

Attila Toth
