So from the console....I cd my way into where I extracted the files then type that out exactly?
  ./bf1942_Indxed +game BF1942 +dedicated 1 +port 14567 + config ServerSettings.con
so for me I extracted to /Home/Downloads/bf1942_Indxed
Is that correct? Not sure I understand what it's running though...is there a particular executable it runs or I am I thinking still in terms of Windows... :)
  Thanks. Daniel

    would look something like this:
    ./bf1942_lnxded +game BF1942 +dedicated 1 +port 14567 +config ServerSettings.con
and if you go here: http://www.planetpacs.com/serverconfig.asp it'll help with the config file

ok...I Downloaded it but how do I run it, since I'm new to Linux. Just want to learn. Which file do I run? Do I need to run it from a command line or can I add it to my program lists under Mandrake 9.0?
      Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
      Daniel
