Hi,

One other hint: not all versions of tar use the '-j' flag for bz2 
compression .. on slackware (<8.1) its '-y' and i thought it was '-I' on 
some SuSe systems ..

Indeed not so consitent .. but you can always check tar --help for the 
right parameter (try tar --help | grep bzip2)
