Bad GL performance

I'll chime in with yet another "Framerate is very bad, especially
outside". The performance inside buildings is "okay", but imho quite
bad.

I also noticed that the cursor in the main menus feel a bit sluggish.

Specs:

P4 2.2Ghz
512Mb RAM
NVidia GeForce3 with 1.0-3123 (24bit) (Game running at 800x600)
Kernel 2.4.20-pre7-ac3 (To support my motherboard)
Debian (Unstable)
