- Upgrades aplenty (posted 2002-03-02 17:12:34 by icculus):
I started off today to patch the exploit in PHP so I could reenable PHP uploads (needed to send messages through the webmail interface). While I was at it, I decided to upgrade Apache and mod_ssl to the latest versions. In the midst of this, we had some file system corruption (!), so I had to reboot to do a safe fsck. While rebooted, I decided, hey why not, I'll upgrade the kernel. And while doing that, I figured I should put the latest ef2fsprogs package in there, for safety's sake.
In short, a LOT of crucial code has changed. It appears to be running fine, but do not hesistate to alert me if anything seems suspicious. And in regards to the filesystem corruption: while we're making backups (last full backup was about 10 minutes ago), it would be wise to not store anything on icculus.org of which you have no other copies for at least the next 24 hours while we see that the hardware is stable.
