Mark this .plan update as my attempt to be as cool as GreenMarine by talking
about Hong Kong (or at least Hong Kong influenced) movies.

I just saw The One, Jet Li's newest offering. Sadly enough, I don't think I'll
be buying the DVD (unless it's *really* cheap). The movie was James Wong's
attempt to bring martial arts to a mainstream (teen) audience. If you thought
the rap soundtrack in the American release of Black Mask was bad (and I did),
you'll cringe when you see The One. Jet Li's fight scenes are often set to
popular tunes from your average rock radio station, including Godsmack,
Disturbed, and Papa Roach. Trust me on this one folks, Americanization of
martial arts films will only make them suck more.

As for the martial arts in themselves, I was unimpressed. I need to watch
Fist of Legend soon to purify my mind.
