This may be a bit of an odd question, but why exactly do you enforce
this rule?

You have just lost this customer forever.

Anyone who ever asks for a recommendation or does any research into
what ISPs they should be using will surely find various webpages, for
example, mine, which describes the treatment I've had from BT internet.

There are a great many other webpages out there, also, along similar veins
[example, the register had an extensive thing about this a while ago]

All that this does is drive away customers, present [eg me], and future
[eg anyone who does some research into ISPs].

Just curious, as it's pretty much too late for me to ever get an
account with you again, anyways.
