Ryan gave a talk at a LUG meeting within the past year or three
(that saw relatively wide distribution as mp3) where he stated that
the ideal was to simply have a cross-platform developer on the team,
maintaining the alt-OS builds, as big porting problems are nipped in
the bud before they become big, and better code is produced on all
platforms as a result.

Not quite the "start in Linux and port to Winders" idea floated by
David, but I'd say Ryan's idea was a pretty solid compromise....
For those that care about finding out what the
problem was, there ~is~ a way to find out, but you
have to care enough to invest some time and
effort. We'd have to start a class-action lawsuit,
based on the $50 damages you each incurred when
you purchased the game based on Mark Rein's false
claim that there would be a Linux version. Then
the emails and what-all can be subpoena'd, and
you'd get to see who decided that it wasn't worth
the work to replace the legally encumbered part
that they were dumb enough to build into it, in
the first place.

Y'know, if they'd build the Linux version first,
and then port to Windows, it'd be a LOT simpler.
