This is what I meant by conspiracy theories. Sure he said you would not
believe who it was, but with how many people pointing towards Microsoft I
doubt that falls into the category of "not believing." If UT3 was branded
"Games for Windows" yeah I would agree, but its not. Everyone is quick to
point fingers at Microsoft because of their anti-opensource attitude, but
realistically what would MS have to gain by blocking games for Linux?
Nothing! Lets face it, as an OS environment Linux is not friendly for
professional game developers. Linux has far more variations then Windows
ever will, the SDL doesn't quite match up to Direct X, the community itself
doesn't like DRM making copy protection difficult, the community has this
stigma of being opensource/free software only nazis, and our hardware
support isn't up to speed with everyone else. Lets face it, until we get
over our stigma and unify everything about Linux into standard everything
like Windows & Mac do things game devs are scared of us and don't see linux
as a  profitable platform.
