Still old-client make server crash bug?

Forgetting to patch my fresh client install I kept killing the servers I 
tested. I can join once, any attempt after that fails and makes other 
players get kicked and unable to reconnect shortly afterwards. Is this still 
a known bug? Patched my client -> problem fixed. Is there otherwise a 
setting like the 'minnetver' in previous UT's ?
