The issue isn't totally with Gamespy, it's just that it's *mandatory*.  If
it was *optional* we wouldn't be complaining so much.

And besides, there *IS* an open source statistics package available, it's
called OLSTATS, and it works very well with UT2K4.

They didn't have to change the stats protocol, but even if they did it could
be documented and the open source community would provide the OLSTATS
interface.

Your argument is full of holes.
