It's possible your kernel is incorrectly configured. I recall strange framerate/loading issues with UT and UT2K4 in the days before we could set 1000Hz tick cycles and configure the kernel scheduling for pre-emptive desktop. So check that. It could be a graphics driver problem also, or you're running UT2K4 from a very slow medium. Are you running it from a native Linux filesystem like ext2/3/4 or are you trying to run it from NTFS (you mentioned you also play fine on Windows). If on NTFS that would explain experiencing what is essentially load lag also.<br>
