I do have the ati drivers installed, had to go through a whole whack of
stuff eventually leading to recompiling my kernel to even get 3d
acceleration but I will look into some other stuff.

This has nothing to do with UT, so your own your own... there is alot of
documentation out there as to how you setup the X display drivers...
As for the patch you extract the patch then just copy over the currently
installed install of ut.

Any ATi questions I can assist you... However bear in mind that for
UT2003/4 the best performing drivers are the 3.2.8. They're a major
mess to install, and, well have noticeable performance improvement over
the 3.9.0, but *only* for UT200x based games (AA included).<br>
