Glad it worked, although that is very strange. Make sure there is no ~/.ut2004 directory, and did you try to make an .openalrc for voip? Maybe any user specific x or opengl config files; just look through `ls ~/.*` and see if any of them could be the culprit.

Well, whatever it was is gone now... I migrated my whole home directory
to the new location making sure I copy the really important
.<dir> directories and files (for instance my .phoenix and
.thunderbird directories or the .bashrc .bash_profile ;)). I may be
wrong but the problem could have been in the .gnome* or .gconf*
directories... who knows, all I know is that I can paly UT2004 on-line
now, w00t!<br>
