The problem are the nvidia-binary drivers. The newer kernels (2.6.6 and up) have the 4k-stack option turned on. The nvidia-drivers don't work together with that (in short: they are b0rken as hell). A workaround is turning that option off under "kernel-hacking". But that option will soon dissappear. Bug nvidia for writing better drivers. :|
