[ut2004] hit-hit-hitching on debian etch

Have you got any funky visual programs running on your desktop or desktop
widgets or anything like that?

Also as per a previous thread on this list, check the kernel timer in the
kernel config.  It doesn't affect everyone like this, but it did me.  Should
be set to 1000Hz.
