[little OT] Free radeon driver

Hi,

there are some reports in the net saying that the new free radeon driver
can do better 3D acceleration than fglrx, at least for 9200 cards. So
after debian etch was released, i checked this out. Good old UT99 is
playable, but UT2004 was too slow (8 fps vs. 50 fps).

Has anybody got some experiences with this? Is it a configuration
problem or is the free driver just not as good as pseudo-benchmarks like
glxgears suggest?

By the way, i've got a radeon mobility 9200 which is not exactly a 9200
chipset.
