New to linux games

Ok, i'm trying to run ut2004 on mandriva one gnome.

I've got an amd sempron 3200+ processor,
A 80gb hard drive, 512 mb of ram, msi rx1600 graphics card,
and Msi p95 neo MainBoard.

As you can see, i'm capable of running it. However, when i click on the file
to execute it in the /usr/local/games/ut2004 folder, the terminal comes up
for a second, and blinks out and nothing happens. Help would be appreciated.
