Hi andrew

I couldn't get ut2004 to run on linux either till I switched to Lorma - Linux
( i used knoppix and gentoo and no luck at all)
I dont know why but it runs flawless on Lorma linux with no issues what so ever.

My specs
Athlon XP 2200
396 megs of PC 133 ram
ATI 9200 SE agp with 128 megs
mobo is a PC l810h

as you can see this hardware is old and cheap, but it works fine.
I know this is not a 'direct' answer but this is what I had to do to get this game to run on linux.

Simple question, have you tried to run it as another user? What do you
get in the console?
