Do you have Folding at Home running or anything like that? With my GeForce3 
Ti200, I get 99 FPS while F at H is running but over 2100 FPS without it. 
That's odd since F at H should be running at the lowest possible priority. 
It makes me wonder if glxgears is worth anything other than figuring out 
if 3D acceleration is really working.
