[ut2004] Why is my Unreal Tournament 2004 not working!!!???

I'm using a heavily tweaked Fedora Core 1 install (basically RH 9 on 
steroids, what should have been RH 10)
Kernel 2.6.4
ALSA
ATi official driver 3.2.8 (yes I use ATi, but had to deal with nVidia 
hardware in the past, quite recently actually).
