Can't get into X server? I had the same problem this summer trying to get my
nVidia driver working, don't worry, we all go through it.

Matter of fact my memory may be shakey but I believe for redhat you can hit
"crtl-alt-F3" and it'll bring you to a terminal, from there you can type (as
root) 'init 3', or '/sbin/init 3'. Run level 3 doesnt run an X server so you
can install your nVidia drivers properly from there, and when you're done just
type init 5 and bam, you're back to a friendly gui.

I apologize if someone already addressed this, I had a bit of blood taken today
so I'm all over the place ;-)
