I don't know, there should be a way to unpack the missing files from the cd 
without problems. probably similar to the way it was done with the original 
ut (described in icculus linux gaming faq http://www.icculus.org/lgfaq).
On the other hand, reinstalling should keep all your settings and add-in 
content (mods etc.) so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
